Babies & Toddlers
Sick of feeling like one of the crowd? want the personal touch, great tuition in a small, warm, clean and friendly environment?
Toddlers:
Toddlers, 3 years+ participate in the class without a parent, under the direct instruction of one of our trained Toddler Swimming Instructors. These little swimmers enter our Learn to Swim program where the focus moves from water confidence, to independence/safety and then onto stroke development. By the completion of the last Learn to Swim level all swimmers will have mastered Freestyle, Breaststroke, Backstroke and Butterfly kick. We cater fro swimmers aged 3 years and above in all of our programs, Christ Church, Claremont, Mandurah and Mount Lawley.
Babies:
These lessons are conducted in
a format offered nowhere else in Perth. Beginning from 4 months, infants
and toddlers are taught survival skills that are essential for water safety.
These survival skills are slowly introduced to ensure your child has a fun
and stimulating water experience. The use of song helps us teach babies
essential skills such as floating, turning back to touch grab the edge,
'falling in'', kicking and breath control. A maximum of 8 children per class
with classes all matched for age.
We cater for Parent and Babies at the Mount Lawley and Mandurah programs only. The pools we use for the Baby program are heated to a very comfortable 34 degrees.
To book at Mt Lawley please call Trish on 0411 442 953.
PARENTS ROLE
You, the parent, are the child's most important teacher. In Parent and Baby
classes you are in the water with your child, guiding them through games and
skills with the help of the experienced instructor. Allow your hands to feel
like the water, instilling confidence and trust.
Once your child is in the Learn to Swim program it equally important to instil confidence and trust. Even with you out of the water this can be achieved by celebrating each progression your child makes, actively watching the class for safety and encouragement.
