Swim Squads

Minimarlins: A junior squad that develops stroke skills as well as introducing various skills such as tumble turns and butterfly arms. This is the first squad joined after "learn to swim". Minimarlins train 18m once per week for 45 minutes.

Minimarlins squads are run at the Christ Church, Mandurah and Claremont Pool programs.

Marlins: This squad is for graduates of the minimarlins and further develops stroke technique and skills and focuses on developing technique endurance. Marlins swim 25m 2x per week for 1 hour.

Marlin squads are run at the Christ Church, Mandurah and Claremont Pool programs.

Red Marlins: A step up from marlins, red marlins begin training in 50m lanes. The focus for red marlins is further development of stroke technique, race skills and technique endurance. red marlins train 2 x per week for 1 hour.

Redmarlin squads are run at the Christ Church program currently with plans to have them also run at the Claremont Pool program in 2009.

Blue Marlins: Suitable for the older, advanced swimmer who wants fun and fitness swimming. School swimmers, water polo players, surf club swimmers and junior triathletes welcome. Advanced stroke correction and fitness work. Blue marlins 1 train for 1 hour 3 x per week and blue marlins 2 train for 1.5 hours between 3 and 5 times per week.

Bluemarlin squads are only run at the Christ Church program on week day nights 5.30-7pm

Westside Christ Church Aquatic The State Squad: Swimming under the club name Westside Christ Church Aquatic, this squad trains in the sessions available to the Bluemarlins but also has three morning sessions available, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. Paul Birch is the Head Coach of this squad and delivers sessions to enable swimmers to be competitive at State and national levels.”
